About the Role
The role involves leading FPGA development for radar systems, integrating embedded software, and ensuring real-time performance in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement FPGA logic for radar signal processing applications
- Develop and verify HDL code for high-speed data acquisition and processing
- Collaborate with radar and systems engineering teams to define requirements
- Optimize FPGA resources for throughput, latency, and power efficiency
- Support integration of FPGA modules into embedded radar platforms
- Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues in lab and field environments
- Create detailed technical documentation for designs and interfaces
- Work with timing closure and resource utilization in complex FPGA designs
- Integrate ADCs, DACs, and high-speed serial interfaces in FPGA systems
- Ensure compliance with radar system timing and synchronization requirements
- Participate in design reviews and peer validation processes
- Support verification and testing using simulation and hardware-in-loop methods
- Maintain version control for FPGA projects using Git or similar tools
- Develop scripts and tools to automate parts of the FPGA workflow
- Interface with PCB design teams on signal integrity and FPGA pinout planning
- Contribute to real-time embedded software interacting with FPGA logic
- Implement digital down-conversion and filtering in FPGA for radar signals
- Work with clock distribution and jitter control in high-speed designs
- Support deployment and field operations of radar systems
- Ensure designs meet reliability and environmental requirements
- Collaborate on radar calibration and performance validation
- Stay current with advancements in FPGA technology and radar processing
- Mentor junior engineers in FPGA design practices
- Assist in defining future radar system architectures
- Participate in on-call support for critical system issues
