Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to play a key role in driving production quality and enhancing manufacturing and business processes. You will be responsible for analyzing production data, quality records, and test results to identify improvement opportunities and manage non-conformances to support organizational goals.
What You'll Do
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track performance of manufacturing processes and external suppliers.
- Support incoming inspection, instrument calibration, internal audits, supplier management, supplier audits, corrective and preventative actions, nonconformances, in-process and final testing, and ISO certification.
- Lead projects involving implementation of quality improvement strategies, measurement, and training.
- Investigate, analyze, and disposition NCRs, understand root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work with suppliers and purchasing to resolve Supplier Corrective Actions and verify implementation.
- Perform root cause investigations using 8D as a problem-solving tool and present findings to engineering, quality, service, and manufacturing personnel.
- Respond to quality concerns from clients about products and quality assurance methods.
- Identify, support and track Corrective and Preventive Actions and assure timely closure.
- Evaluate performance of the Quality Management System (QMS) as an internal auditor and maintain/update quality forms/documents.
- Develop quality plans and other controls to ensure manufacturing processes meet specified quality standards.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to recommend and implement changes to product designs, processes, or business practices to resolve quality issues.
- Work with manufacturing leadership to train personnel and reduce quality problems.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Quality Management.
- 5+ years of experience in a quality engineering position in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to lead technical discussions.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, PPAP and lean business systems.
Nice to Have
- Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ).
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
- Experience with the manufacturing of printed circuit board assemblies and/or manufacturing of electromechanical devices such as magnetic bearings, motors, or linear actuators.

- Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000.
