Motorola Solutions is hiring a Senior Project Manager - Mid-Atlantic Region

About the Role

Motorola Solutions is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team serving the Mid-Atlantic Region. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of our Land Mobile Radio (LMR) products and services, managing projects from inception to close-out. You will ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to established quality standards, upholding our mission to help keep people safer everywhere.

What You'll Do

  • Direct and manage the development and implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services.
  • Lead large programs or portions of very complex programs.
  • Coordinate internal resources, cross-functional teams, and external third-parties/vendors for flawless project execution.
  • Direct and coordinate the work activities of the project team, motivating them for optimal performance.
  • Develop the complete project plan, set deliverable dates, and track progress against them.
  • Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Work with Scheduling and Engineering Management to ensure resource availability.
  • Manage and communicate changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Establish, track, and audit project budgets, analyze variances, and develop necessary action plans.
  • Ensure effective project delivery through the use of Six Sigma and Project Management methodologies.
  • Identify and communicate defects in the build of material, part numbers, and software versions to product planners.
  • Support and drive project close-out tasks for successful upgrades.
  • Track and evaluate project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Participate in project review and status meetings, and clearly communicate project status.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Lead and drive efficiency by utilizing tools that promote Project Management best practices.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in Project Management efficiencies and drive their implementation.
  • Successfully manage relationships with all project resources and stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization on projects and may perform in a project leadership role.
  • Involved in the management of project staff, including project reporting, administration, and communication.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in one of the following: Project Management, Engineering, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT, Motorola, Military experience, or Public Safety experience.
  • Demonstrate a firm understanding of all nine areas of PMBOK project management with expertise in at least two areas.
  • Experience in running project phases and overseeing the development of a complete project plan.
  • Strong knowledge of Motorola Solutions Astro 25 Public Safety systems.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to achieve results in a multi-organizational environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player, able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with at least one of the following: Public Safety communications systems, Cellular infrastructure, Military communications, Civil construction, or IT Networks.
  • PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) highly desired; PM Masters Certificate is a plus.
  • Understanding of two-way radio/cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems.
  • Understanding of local and state public safety customers (police, fire, emergency medical services).
  • Motorola Solutions Field System Integration experience is a plus.
