Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the production environment, including deployments, rollbacks, capacity planning, and incident response.
- Develop and implement a scaling strategy involving horizontal expansion, load distribution, caching, object storage offloading, database replication, and decentralized storage node distribution.
- Assess and incorporate managed cloud services such as databases, storage, content delivery networks, and load balancers when justified by cost-efficiency.
- Build and configure CI/CD pipelines from the ground up, likely using GitHub Actions, to automate testing, building, container image publishing, and deployment across all services.
- Implement comprehensive observability with metrics collection, log management, error tracking, service-level objectives, and actionable alerting.
- Oversee automated TLS certificate management, DNS configuration, and secure handling of secrets, replacing hardcoded credentials with a robust secrets management solution.
- Adopt infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Terraform to ensure the production environment is fully reproducible and version-controlled.
- Leverage AI-powered coding tools to generate infrastructure code, operational runbooks, and incident response procedures.
