American Tower is looking for a Senior Network Engineer responsible for implementing network architectures and ensuring peak performance and uptime. You will partner cross-functionally to deliver high-performing network services for our enterprise infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Support network design, identify and implement solutions, and suggest improvements for a cost-effective infrastructure.
- Install and maintain switches, hubs, routers, and systems hardware; troubleshoot, upgrade, and resolve hardware/software problems.
- Monitor and control infrastructure performance, including response, throughput, and availability of on-premises and cloud data centers.
- Locate tools and processes to identify troublesome trends and develop plans to resolve and prevent recurring network problems.
- Ensure a stable performance environment and rapidly identify and solve problems within the corporate network.
- Create and implement comprehensive test plans, including functionality, integrity, and stress testing.
- Participate in IT projects aimed at continually improving or upgrading the network infrastructure.
- Review assigned service requests daily, provide follow-up, and give status updates to clients.
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor LAN/WAN platform performance and availability, and help configure, install, and maintain necessary hardware and software.
- Implement network architectures, including LAN-to-WAN, LAN-to-LAN, WAN-to-WAN, Cloud-to-onPrem, and Cloud-to-Cloud communications.
- Follow established procedures for LAN/WAN administration, including security and reliability.
- Participate in tool and vendor evaluations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of Enterprise Networks Support experience.
- Knowledge of a broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment.
- Knowledge of Cisco products.
- Knowledge of routing protocols, including a strong understanding of OSPF and BGP.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Zscaler (or other Zero Trust Network solutions).
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to professionally achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within agreed-upon timeframes through effective prioritization.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in the networking field.
- Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of test platforms, including evaluation of test equipment and design of test networks.
