Shape the future of mobile trading by leading the architecture and evolution of a widely used consumer app built with Flutter. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining a scalable mobile foundation that powers real-time cryptocurrency trading across iOS and Android platforms, serving over 2 million users.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end ownership of the mobile application’s architecture, guiding its long-term technical direction and scalability.
- Develop and maintain a unified design system and reusable component library in close partnership with design teams.
- Build responsive, data-rich interfaces including live price updates, interactive charts, order management, and portfolio tracking.
- Optimize performance through frame rate improvements, memory efficiency, network usage, and crash reduction.
- Implement robust testing practices across unit, widget, and integration levels, and contribute to release and QA workflows.
- Integrate analytics, A/B testing, feature flags, and event tracking in collaboration with Product and Growth teams.
- Work closely with backend engineers to refine API contracts, data models, error resilience, and offline capabilities.
- Champion engineering excellence through mentorship, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Support mobile incident response through on-call rotations and lead post-mortem resolutions.
What We’re Looking For
- 6–10+ years of mobile development experience, with at least 3 years using Flutter in production or equivalent frameworks like React Native, Kotlin, or Swift.
- Proven track record leading large-scale consumer applications, especially in fintech, trading, or high-transaction environments.
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns, state management, navigation, and modular code organization.
- Experience building or overseeing design systems and UI libraries in Flutter or similar ecosystems.
- Solid foundation in testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and release strategies for mobile platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience guiding and mentoring other engineers.
Nice to Have
- Background working with real-time data streams, WebSockets, and highly dynamic user interfaces.
- Experience with growth engineering: experiment frameworks, deep linking, and attribution systems.
- Familiarity with crypto, DeFi, or high-frequency transaction platforms such as brokerage or sports betting apps.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with flexibility for remote work across North America, centered around NYC. Expect quarterly travel for in-person collaboration sprints. The team values autonomy, technical rigor, and shared ownership in building the next generation of decentralized financial tools.
