About the Role
This role involves leading mechanical engineering tasks from concept through completion, supporting project delivery with technical expertise and coordination across engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of mechanical systems designs for large-scale infrastructure
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and construction teams
- Support project management with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
- Conduct site inspections and provide field engineering support
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Perform HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system analysis
- Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements
- Integrate sustainable design principles into engineering solutions
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Apply industry software for modeling and simulation
- Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are followed
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in mechanical or building systems engineering
- LEED Accredited Professional credential
- Experience with BIM workflows
- Project experience in aviation or transit facilities
- PMP certification
- Experience with energy efficiency standards
- Knowledge of federal design guidelines
- Background in lifecycle cost analysis
- Familiarity with commissioning processes
