Computacenter is hiring a Senior Manager Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the critical infrastructure and tools that support our software development and deployment lifecycle. This role is central to ensuring our platforms are reliable, scalable, and secure.
What You'll Do
- Automate the DevOps lifecycle by assembling tools and processes for task automation.
- Build bespoke internal tools such as APIs, CLIs, and applications to support product engineering.
- Provision and monitor infrastructure, implementing workflows for on-demand resource creation.
- Maintain and iterate upon Internal Developer Platforms based on developer requirements.
- Support teams using the platform through mentoring, promotion, and solving usability queries.
- Debug and resolve reported issues using observability suites to minimize impact on workflows.
- Assess new industry tools for integration, running proofs of concept and innovating.
- Capture feedback from customer development teams to facilitate continual platform improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in Agile product ownership (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
- Ability to write clear user stories and prioritize features based on business value.
- Proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture.
- Experience ensuring platform services meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and risk management.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members and customer developer teams.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) for platform deployments.
- Experience working in global organizations with multi-regional teams.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to AI tools and a track record of promoting an automation-first culture.
- Understanding of AI-enhanced monitoring tools for proactive issue detection.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, SAFe, or DevOps.
