Vanta is seeking a Senior Manager, Benefits to lead and scale our global benefits function through a period of high growth and strategic transformation. In this role, you will oversee benefits strategy, vendor partnerships, and day-to-day operations, focusing on delivering competitive, cost-effective offerings that support our people and business needs.
What You'll Do
- Own and evolve Vanta’s global benefits strategy, balancing competitiveness, employee experience, and cost management.
- Evaluate and design localized benefits plans that align with cultural norms and statutory requirements across new countries and regions (e.g., EMEA, LATAM, APAC).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our benefits brokers and vendors, evaluating and negotiating relationships to ensure best-in-class service and value.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of key funding model transitions (e.g., level-funded plans, eventual move to self-insurance), in partnership with Finance and Legal.
- Oversee the design and rollout of benefits in new markets as Vanta expands globally, including plan structure, vendor sourcing, and compliance.
- Collaborate with People Business Partners and Total Rewards to ensure benefits offerings are aligned with employee needs, compensation programs, and business priorities.
- Design and deliver clear benefits communications that educate and empower employees during open enrollment, onboarding, and life events.
- Use benchmarking data and internal analytics to make recommendations on plan design, eligibility, and cost-sharing strategies.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and international regulations related to benefits, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and local statutory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in benefits management.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience.
- Experience owning global benefits programs in a high-growth technology or startup environment.
- Proven ability to design and execute benefits strategy, particularly in evolving funding models (level-funded, self-insured, etc.).
- Deep understanding of U.S. benefits regulations and familiarity with benefits structures and compliance across key international markets.
- Strong project management skills with experience rolling out benefits changes across diverse and distributed teams.
- Analytical mindset with ability to assess plan performance, vendor data, and cost impacts to drive smart decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when translating complex benefits concepts into employee-friendly language.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and executive leadership on cost modeling, budgeting, and risk management.
Team & Environment
You will manage a small but mighty global benefits team and report to Vanta’s Director of People Operations.
