Work in the Matching squad as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, building and deploying ML models to improve matching between freelancers and clients across Europe. Collaborate directly with Data Science, Research, and Engineering teams within a product squad, leading technical innovation and ensuring high standards in production ML systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver machine learning models and pipelines in close coordination with Data Science, Research, and Engineering teams.
- Take ownership of complex machine learning systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability in production environments.
- Lead the adoption of technical best practices across the full ML lifecycle, including modeling, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Establish and implement production standards that improve development quality and velocity across the Data & ML organization.
- Transform complex business challenges into effective machine learning solutions that deliver measurable and lasting product impact.
- Serve as a technical mentor and leader, helping to grow ML capabilities and support the development of less experienced team members.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, Scikit-Learn, or LightGBM.
- Solid understanding of SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Fluency in English, with strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly across teams.
Nice to Have
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline.
- Specialized knowledge in search systems, recommender systems, or natural language processing, including large language models, to guide system architecture and long-term technical planning.
