As a Senior Java Engineer, you'll play a key role in evolving the backend systems that deliver tailored sport and product insights to a global customer base. Based in Lille at a dynamic digital hub, you'll work deeply within the customer intelligence domain to build scalable, event-driven services that support high-traffic platforms.
What You'll Do
You'll lead the design and refinement of microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3, ensuring systems remain highly available and responsive under significant load. You'll partner closely with data engineering and data science teams to develop performant APIs that bring personalized recommendations to life.
Take ownership of code quality and system resilience by guiding peer reviews, advocating for test-driven development, and refining architectural patterns. You'll optimize deployment pipelines, strengthen observability, and apply security early in the development lifecycle to enable reliable daily releases.
Collaborate across disciplines to solve complex technical challenges, share knowledge actively, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. You'll also explore emerging technologies in cloud-native and event-driven ecosystems to future-proof platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years building backend Java applications in large-scale production environments using Spring Boot
- Proven expertise in microservices, REST APIs, and event streaming with Kafka
- Strong commitment to DevSecOps principles, including monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Experience with testing strategies across unit, integration, and load levels, and a firm grasp of CI/CD workflows
- Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform for deploying scalable, secure systems
- Ability to lead technical direction, mentor teammates, and influence cross-team initiatives through code and collaboration
