About the Role
In this role, you will drive critical infrastructure decisions, develop platforms used by multiple teams, and ensure a high standard of reliability and rigor that strengthens organizational confidence. Given the product's focus on trust and compliance, infrastructure quality is central to customer commitments. The engineering hub is in San Francisco, but the role supports remote work across the US, with hybrid options for Bay Area employees.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and sustain foundational infrastructure to enable scalable, secure, and dependable services across engineering units.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using platforms such as Terraform to ensure environment consistency and operational reliability.
- Lead key infrastructure architecture choices and define long-term technical strategy.
- Create reusable platforms, abstractions, and AI-powered tools that elevate engineering team capabilities.
- Enhance system reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness through monitoring, logging, and alerting systems like Datadog and CloudWatch.
- Enforce security and compliance standards through robust identity controls, network isolation, secrets management, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Lead incident response efforts and postmortem reviews, focusing on root cause resolution and systemic improvements.
- Guide and collaborate with engineers and technical leads to promote reliability, automation, and continuous learning.
- Support disaster recovery planning and ensure high availability and resilience of essential systems.
- Document infrastructure designs, architectural decisions, and operational protocols to ensure clarity and team enablement.
