Transport is looking for a Senior ICT Engineer to join our team, providing essential 2nd line support and implementing new technologies for our blue light emergency services customers. This is a critical role ensuring the stability and efficient operation of their ICT environments. You'll undertake complex technical work and participate in project implementations, operating in a hybrid/flexible working model that requires travel.
What You'll Do
- Provide 2nd line ICT support for a range of ICT hardware, applications, networks, and systems.
- Design, test, and implement new systems and technologies in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain documentation related to system configuration, mapping, and processes.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers to ensure resolution to agreed SLAs and standards.
- Manage infrastructure life cycle and capacity planning.
- Following training and assessment, form part of the 24x7 duty rota (1 week in every 4 weeks).
- Work within the framework and guidelines of ITIL processes and policies.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems and Active Directory Administration.
- Experience deploying Microsoft security patching to endpoints and servers.
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure and Networking principles.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Experience working in a busy environment, with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as an integral part of a team.
- Security Cleared to NPPV3 & SC Level (able to obtain or already obtained).
- A clean UK Driving License.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge and administration of Computer Aided Despatch (CAD) Systems.
- Knowledge and administration of Integrated Communication Control System (ICCS).
- Experience with Fire Station End / GD92 / Mobile Data Terminal support.
- Experience with Azure and Office 365.
- Experience with Backup and DR Solutions.
- Experience with Manage Engine.
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM, InTune, and Mobile Device Management.
- Experience working within a service level driven environment.
- Experience within emergency services or other mission-critical environments.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, ITIL or equivalent).
