About the Role
The Senior Global Employment Counsel will lead legal strategy around workforce compliance, advising internal teams on employment law, policy development, and risk management across international markets.
Responsibilities
- Advise on employment laws and regulations across multiple countries
- Support HR and people operations with legal guidance on workforce decisions
- Draft, review, and update employment agreements and policies
- Ensure compliance with labor standards and local statutory requirements
- Manage legal risks related to hiring, promotions, and terminations
- Collaborate with international teams to align legal practices
- Lead investigations into workplace complaints when necessary
- Provide counsel on employee classification and contractor arrangements
- Monitor changes in global labor legislation and recommend actions
- Support internal audits and external regulatory inquiries
- Work closely with benefits and payroll teams on compliance matters
- Develop training materials for managers on employment law topics
- Assist in crisis response involving workforce issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cross-border employment trends
- Partner with outside counsel in various jurisdictions
- Ensure data privacy compliance in employment contexts
- Advocate for equitable and legally sound workplace practices
- Review communications related to organizational changes
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives from a legal standpoint
- Help scale legal frameworks as the company expands globally
