This role involves deep analysis of player data and game mechanics to enhance gameplay, retention, and monetization through evidence-based recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large-scale player behavior datasets to identify trends and patterns
- Evaluate in-game economy performance and suggest adjustments
- Monitor key performance indicators across live game operations
- Collaborate with design teams to interpret data for feature development
- Develop and maintain dashboards for ongoing game health tracking
- Investigate player retention and churn using statistical methods
- Support A/B testing initiatives with rigorous experimental design
- Translate complex data findings into clear, strategic insights
- Assess balance and fairness of gameplay mechanics through data
- Identify opportunities for improving player engagement
- Conduct root cause analysis on unexpected shifts in player metrics
- Work closely with product managers on data-driven decisions
- Create predictive models for player lifetime value and behavior
- Support live events with pre- and post-event analytics
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting systems
- Document analytical methodologies and share best practices
- Use SQL and other query tools to extract and process data
- Apply statistical software or programming languages for analysis
- Communicate results to non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Contribute to long-term roadmap planning using player insights
