About the Role
Lead the team responsible for the core systems that manage customer purchases, usage metering, billing accuracy, revenue recognition, and financial operations. This role is central to Growth Engineering, working closely with multiple business units to ensure platform reliability, strategic execution, and strong operational standards while fostering a culture of ownership and high performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and expansion of systems for billing, subscriptions, invoicing, and usage tracking that form the foundation of revenue operations.
- Ensure high reliability and operational rigor in billing infrastructure, including on-call processes, incident management, monitoring, and system health.
- Work with senior technical staff to define and implement long-term technical direction for subscription management, usage tracking, invoicing, and third-party integrations like Stripe Billing, balancing immediate goals with future scalability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Sales, Finance, and other teams to align roadmaps, close operational gaps, and deliver measurable business results each quarter.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with leaders in Finance, Enterprise Systems, and Analytics to ensure data consistency, compliance, reconciliation accuracy, and reporting integrity.
- Lead system modernization and migration initiatives, such as transitioning to Stripe-first architectures, ensuring safe change implementation and reliable downstream data integration.
- Provide clear direction on priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery timelines, enforcing high standards for planning, testing, and end-to-end quality—especially for revenue-critical releases.
- Grow and retain engineering talent through coaching, clear goal setting, and effective delegation, leveraging technical leads to scale leadership impact.
- Foster a team culture rooted in accountability, ownership, and excellence, emphasizing speed, clear communication, and recognition of achievements.
