Responsibilities
- Lead collaborative sessions across departments to establish standardized enterprise KPIs and performance indicators.
- Address discrepancies in metric definitions to ensure organizational consistency.
- Bridge communication between technical specialists and business units to align data usage and interpretation.
- Manage the structure and oversight of the centralized enterprise data catalog.
- Determine official data definitions and oversee version control processes.
- Establish metadata schema standards and enforce uniform implementation across systems.
- Model and document intricate data relationships, such as many-to-many associations and hierarchical dependencies.
- Work with data architects to validate that data models meet analytical and reporting requirements.
- Evaluate and authorize changes to schemas within governed data environments.
- Design reusable, scalable logic for generating consistent metrics across platforms like BI tools and data lakes.
- Improve SQL and Python code for efficiency, readability, and long-term maintenance.
- Maintain uniformity in how key metrics are calculated across different business areas.
- Create and enhance data governance policies covering data quality, naming standards, and stewardship frameworks.
- Track compliance with governance standards and direct corrective actions for non-compliant data assets.
- Guide junior team members in applying effective data governance practices.
- Build executive dashboards to illustrate governance progress and business impact.
- Produce training content and conduct onboarding for new data stewards.
- Present governance strategies, initiatives, and results to leadership and key stakeholders.
