Valtech is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join a multidisciplinary project team. You'll build and manage large-scale, public-facing experience and commerce platforms, focusing on cloud infrastructure, security, monitoring, and DevOps support.

What You'll Do

Build, change, and maintain cloud infrastructures in AWS – compute, data, and networking.
Set up logging, monitoring, and security.
Support teams to set up and maintain their pipelines.
Coach junior colleagues to improve their technical skills.
Proactively advise teams, clients, and projects on cloud-related improvements in performance, availability, security, and reliability.
Participate as an L3 cloud engineer in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation.
Communicate transparently and be verbose about work in project tools.
Create and maintain necessary documentation for colleagues.
Create and maintain automation wherever it makes sense.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience as a cloud engineer in AWS.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
Solid knowledge of AWS serverless services.
Knowledge and experience with monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch).
Knowledge and experience with various pipelining tools (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Jenkins).
Knowledge and experience with microservices-related technology: Docker and Kubernetes.
Good conceptual understanding of cloud architecture and system thinking.
Experience working as an engineer in a DevOps context.
Excellent command of English (C1 or above).
Experience with publicly accessible, highly available eCommerce and/or experience platforms.
Experience working in an international context with on- and off-shore teams.
Assertive with good communication skills.
Cooperative attitude, DevOps mindset, and respect for colleagues.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with specific AWS technologies: ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, Guardduty, Cloudwatch, ALB, ELB, VPC, NSG, Cloudfront.
