SITA Switzerland Sarl seeks a Senior Cloud Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure. In this role, you will architect, implement, and manage scalable, secure cloud environments, blending hands-on administration with strategic thinking. Your focus on automation, infrastructure-as-code, and operational excellence will help build robust platforms for modern applications across our global organization.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
- Administer Azure environments including networking, compute, storage, and identity services.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform to ensure reproducible and scalable environments.
- Automate operational processes and deployment workflows using GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
- Design and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
- Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure platform reliability.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and support application teams in resolving operational challenges.
- Contribute to cloud architecture improvements, security best practices, and cost optimization.
- Document infrastructure, procedures, and operational standards.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in cloud administration, infrastructure engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Proven experience designing and administering Azure-based infrastructure.
- Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Experience using GitHub for version control and CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of infrastructure components.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work in distributed international teams.
- Proactive approach to automation and continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
- Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance.
- Familiarity with cost optimization and FinOps practices.
- Experience working in international distributed teams.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
