Join our team as a Senior Backend Engineer on the Submission Processing Team. You'll work at the intersection of AI and backend engineering, focusing on core R&D to process millions of insurance documents at scale. Your work will involve extracting precise information and building LLM-based solutions with outsized impact.
What You'll Do
- Build LLM-based solutions that process millions of insurance documents at scale.
- Extract precise information about companies from documents and synthesize it into a complete picture of the insured.
- Work on R&D challenges that require creativity and ambition.
- Collaborate with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers.
- Build scalable backend solutions as the company grows.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Deep Python expertise.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
- Experience working with LLMs in production and deploying them at scale.
- Fluency with coding agents and AI-assisted development.
- Experience with AWS and serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
- Comfort with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
- You embody hustle and grit, are excellent at your craft, and relentless in pursuing it.
- You take full ownership of work and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
- You communicate proactively, surfacing blockers, asking questions, and keeping stakeholders in the loop.
- You thrive on experimentation: comfortable testing ideas, measuring results, and iterating quickly.
- You are excited by R&D and want to solve problems others are still struggling with.
