Zencastr is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote-first company. In this role, you will build the scalable, high-performance consumer applications and APIs that are pushing podcasting into the future.

What You'll Do

Build scalable consumer-based applications.
Design and build APIs.
Work with cloud APIs like Google Cloud and Digital Ocean.
Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.
Advocate for the end user to best serve their needs.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience with Typescript and Node.js development.
Significant experience with Node.js and good knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals.
Good understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.g., heap vs stack, time complexities, design patterns).
Strong document and key-value store knowledge (Redis, MongoDB).
Strong SQL knowledge.
Demonstrable knowledge of building scalable consumer-based apps.
Strong experience with unit, integration, and load testing.
Experience building APIs.
Experience with cloud APIs (Google Cloud, Digital Ocean).
Good communication skills.
Team player attitude.

Nice to Have

Passion for high-performance applications.

Digital Signal Processing experience.
