About the Role
We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to lead the development and optimization of scalable server-side systems within our product organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build reliable, maintainable services and improve system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services that support core product functionality
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams to define API contracts
- Optimize database queries and improve data access patterns
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical roadmaps
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly
- Ensure high availability and performance of backend systems
- Work with infrastructure teams to deploy and monitor services
- Support migration efforts from legacy to modern platforms
- Implement security best practices across services
- Monitor system health and respond to alerts
- Refactor code to improve maintainability and reduce technical debt
- Define and enforce coding standards within the team
- Evaluate and integrate third-party tools and APIs
- Contribute to disaster recovery and backup strategies
- Assist in capacity planning for growing user demand
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
- Drive automation in testing and deployment pipelines
- Participate in incident post-mortems and preventive planning
- Improve observability through logging and metrics
- Support feature flagging and A/B testing infrastructure
- Collaborate on product requirements to assess technical feasibility
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems and workflows
