About the Role

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power mapping functionality, with a focus on performance, accuracy, and integration across services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize backend services supporting map data processing and routing
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to deliver seamless location features
• Improve reliability and speed of geolocation and routing calculations
• Work with large-scale spatial datasets to enhance map accuracy
• Design APIs for internal and external consumption of mapping services
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Implement robust testing practices for backend components
• Support deployment pipelines and infrastructure automation
• Ensure data consistency across distributed systems
• Integrate third-party mapping and geocoding providers
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable systems
• Maintain documentation for services and data flows
• Optimize database queries involving geographic data
• Participate in code reviews and technical planning sessions
• Enhance security and access controls for location data

• Experience in the transportation or mobility sector
