About the Role
We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to lead development of scalable services and data infrastructure. The role involves ownership of core system architecture, improving system resilience, and collaborating with product and frontend teams to deliver robust solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable server-side applications
- Optimize data flow and storage across distributed systems
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements
- Ensure high availability and performance under heavy load
- Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
- Participate in system design and technical planning sessions
- Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly
- Contribute to API design and versioning strategies
- Support data pipeline development and ETL processes
- Enforce coding standards and best practices
- Review peer code and provide constructive feedback
- Work closely with product managers to refine requirements
- Integrate third-party services and tools
- Monitor system health and performance metrics
- Contribute to disaster recovery and backup strategies
- Help define backend technology roadmap
- Improve deployment automation and tooling
- Ensure compliance with data protection standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
- Evaluate new technologies for system improvements
- Support CI/CD pipeline enhancements
- Maintain documentation for systems and processes
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Drive improvements in observability and logging
