Role Overview
Lead the technical transformation of a legacy Chordiant call center application by reverse engineering its components and rebuilding them in Java. This position plays a central role in modernizing a critical system within the healthcare sector, requiring strong analytical abilities, software design proficiency, and leadership across development and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Decompose and analyze existing Chordiant application logic to enable clean reimplementation in Java
- Design scalable solutions and write robust, maintainable code for complex business workflows
- Guide the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing support
- Collaborate directly with business stakeholders and analysts to translate needs into technical solutions
- Provide architectural input and coordinate with enterprise architecture teams on system design
- Issue clear technical direction to database, infrastructure, IVR, and middleware teams supporting the application
- Mentor and supervise external resources involved in maintenance and enhancement efforts
- Ensure thorough documentation of designs, changes, and system behavior
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a senior developer working extensively with Chordiant platforms
- Proven background in healthcare call center systems and related business processes
- Strong command of SQL, object modeling, and development tools including RAD, jbuilder, jprobe, and junit
- Experience with RUM and performance analysis tools
- Ability to lead technical troubleshooting in UNIX, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), and MQ environments
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies and testing standards in enterprise IT
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Skilled in negotiation and cross-team coordination, especially in virtual or distributed settings

Work Location
This is an on-site role based in Richmond, VA. Candidates must be able to work locally without requiring visa sponsorship, though H1B transfer may be considered. W2 contract candidates will be reviewed.
