Gradion is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a long-term enterprise project focused on transforming large-scale ERP and finance systems. In this high-impact role, you will design backend integrations, migrate custom logic, and ensure data correctness and resilience.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement backend integrations between PHP systems and enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA.
- Migrate and decommission custom finance logic in favor of SAP-standard processes.
- Lead complex, migration-heavy integration initiatives with a high degree of independence and ownership.
- Ensure data correctness, auditability, and resilience through patterns like idempotency, retries, and observability.
- Collaborate closely with the SAP Product Owner, Technical Project Lead, and Staff Engineers, clearly communicating technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Document integration patterns and migration decisions for long-term ownership.
What We're Looking For
- Strong senior-level backend experience with PHP in complex, distributed systems.
- Solid experience building system integrations using APIs and async/event-driven patterns.
- High level of independence, proactiveness, and ownership in driving integration and migration work.
- A structured, pragmatic, and quality-driven mindset; comfortable with ambiguity and migration work.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is a strong advantage.
- Specific experience integrating ERP or finance systems (SAP is a strong plus).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken (C1 level or above preferred).
- Experience in large, complex enterprise projects.
