Responsibilities
- Read legacy code in PHP, Perl, or JavaScript, extract business logic, and correctly reimplement it within a modern microservices architecture.
- Ensure idempotency, data integrity, and graceful error handling across all services, rejecting any 'almost working' solutions.
- Split time between building new features from scratch and refactoring existing legacy modules into clean, maintainable code.
- Design and consume external APIs with a deep understanding of webhooks, callbacks, and complex retry policies.
- Maintain clear and strong English communication to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across departments working in agile sprints.
- Go beyond the 'what' and 'how' of the code by bringing a product-focused mindset to understand business logic and end-user impact.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Kubernetes infrastructure where relevant, and bring a passion for infrastructure if you have it.
- Propose and advocate for tools or technologies that demonstrably improve performance, security, or development speed.
