About the Role
This role involves building and improving the foundational backend services that support a high-traffic financial technology platform. The candidate will lead technical initiatives, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and ensure system resilience and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable server-side applications
- Own and evolve critical backend services and APIs
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver integrated features
- Optimize system performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across services
- Contribute to database schema design and query optimization
- Maintain comprehensive logging and monitoring solutions
- Support incident response and post-mortem analysis
- Drive improvements in platform observability
- Enforce security best practices in backend systems
- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies when beneficial
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Help define and follow engineering standards
- Work with DevOps to streamline deployment pipelines
- Ensure compliance with financial data regulations
- Scale infrastructure to meet growing user demand
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems
