About the Role

NBCUniversal is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to lead the development of AI-native products that shape the future of Life Sciences applications. You will manage the creation of scalable AI infrastructure and build a high-performance team focused on innovative, user-centric solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement scalable AI infrastructure to build, test, and support the Signals Notebook and Federated Models Service platforms.
  • Develop and integrate AI-driven features that enhance user experience and functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize AI opportunities.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of AI systems.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring innovative AI solutions to the table.
  • Help architect solutions working closely with peers and management, ensuring solutions fit into our strategic vision.
  • Work closely with UX and Product management to define product features.
  • Participate in all team activities such as hiring, planning, requirements definition, design discussions, code reviews, and software development.
  • Work effectively with other team members to provide a quality product for our customers.

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of demonstrated Software Engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing AI infrastructure, including building applications powered by LLMs.
  • 6+ years as an expert with programming skills in Python and Java.
  • 5+ years of proven experience with distributed execution frameworks like Dask, Sparc, Ray, or similar.
  • 5+ years as a subject matter expert in emerging technologies and trends in areas such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, Data Science, Big Data, and Cyber Security.
  • 6+ years proven experience with AWS.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must have the capability to interview in-person and work locally to our Headquarters in Waltham, MA USA.

Nice to Have

  • BS/MS Computer Science, Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Experience with ChemBio Informatics.
  • Expertise building large-scale, high-availability applications.
  • Experience as a full-stack developer.
  • Experience with open-source technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Mode

This is a remote position for candidates in the US, with a requirement to work locally to the Headquarters in Waltham, MA.
