MLabs is hiring a Senior AI Engineer

MLabs is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to integrate and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) to deliver significant value across our platform. This is a highly collaborative, product-focused role where you will own the technical execution and continuous improvement of all LLM-powered features.

What You'll Do

• Design, experiment with, and rigorously refine prompts and system instructions to maximize LLM effectiveness, reliability, and security across product features.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering to develop and integrate new backend features using LLMs.
• Write and maintain high-quality production code, primarily in TypeScript with some Python, to implement LLM interactions.
• Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, work with vector embeddings, and handle content chunking.
• Continuously evaluate LLM output quality using internal testing and user feedback.
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks and develop automated testing pipelines to monitor key metrics.
• Iterate on model settings and data pipelines to improve LLM performance and user experience.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering and AI/LLM development.
• Proven ability to work in a highly collaborative, product-focused environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for building production-level AI features.
• Strong practical experience with Prompt Engineering and optimizing LLM outputs.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and working with Vector Databases and embeddings.
• Experience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks and automated testing for LLM performance.
• Excellent asynchronous communication skills for a distributed, remote team.
• Must be located and authorized to work in the USA.
