Dane Street is hiring a Senior Accountant to play a crucial role in supporting our finance department's activities. In this remote position, you'll apply analytical and problem-solving skills to large datasets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.
What You'll Do
- Perform complex vendor payment reconciliations, including providing explanations to outside parties and implementing resolutions.
- Work with independent contractors to reconcile prepayments, pursue refunds, and apply payments to services rendered.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and corrections.
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable functions: obtaining approval, recording, expense analysis, payment processing, and vendor management.
- Reconcile and issue payments to doctors based on contractual terms.
- Review unpaid bills, unapplied credits, and outstanding uncashed checks from prior periods.
- Manage the AP email inbox for current invoicing, research on past payments, discrepancies, and open invoices.
- Participate in intra-departmental cross-training and provide support to team members.
- Handle full-cycle accounts receivable: billing, revenue upload, payment application/deposits, and collections.
- Execute full-cycle accounts payable for credit card expenses and corporate payables, including coding, uploads, revenue offsetting, and payment issuance.
- Take on other duties and special projects as assigned based on business needs.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional accounting position, specifically as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or in a similar senior role.
- Exceptional communication skills with a clear understanding of business operations.
- The ability to apply critical thinking, manage time efficiently, and meet specific deadlines.
- Adaptable time management skills to juggle multiple simultaneous tasks and goals.
- A sense of urgency and a self-paced, goal- and deadline-oriented work style.
- Essential computer literacy and typing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven capability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- A solid grasp of accounting theory and its practical application in a business setting.
- Analytical skills to identify problems and implement effective resolutions.
- An ethical approach, a positive attitude, and an inquisitive nature.
Nice to Have
- Experience with large ERP systems like NetSuite or Sage.
