HeadQuarters is looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee key financial operations including accounts payable, payroll, and the month-end close. You will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while supporting a growing accounting team.
What You'll Do
- Review and monitor purchase requests, invoices, and approvals to ensure timely payment processing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and vendor agreements, resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather information and resolve accounts payable issues.
- Record and reconcile payroll transactions for employees and contractors for accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee data for payroll.
- Manage payroll tax calculations and filings in compliance with regulations.
- Oversee payroll-related accruals, including Paid Time Off (PTO), bonuses, and contractor expenses.
- Monitor and track expenses across platforms to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Reconcile accrual accounts and adjust entries as needed.
- Understand general ledger (GL) coding and perform monthly reconciliations for accounts payable, payroll, and accruals.
- Conduct flux analysis to identify and explain significant financial variations.
- Ensure all month-end close deadlines are met and deliver accurate financial reports.
- Collaborate with HR, Procurement, and Operations to resolve outstanding financial matters.
- Provide timely financial information to internal stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements in accounts payable, payroll, and reporting.
- Implement best practices and automation to improve efficiency and streamline operations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, payroll, and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and payroll platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- CPA or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with multi-entity or international payroll processing.
- Knowledge of process automation tools and software.
- Experience in flux analysis and financial forecasting.
