Segal McCambridge is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our collegial firm, focusing on third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters for insurer clients. You'll build sophisticated coverage and litigation experience within a collaborative, well-supported team in the Insurance Coverage Group. This role offers significant case file autonomy complemented by mentorship and training from partners.
What You'll Do
- Handle third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters.
- Represent insurers in coverage litigation and related bad faith proceedings.
- Analyze complex factual and legal issues and develop strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with experienced attorneys while taking ownership of assigned matters.
What We're Looking For
- Active Florida law license in good standing.
- At least 2 years of experience in third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters.
- Proven experience drafting coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters.
- Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and discovery.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality work product.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team.
