SMBC Group was looking for a Security Systems Engineer

SMBC Group is hiring a Security Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for administering projects that safeguard the bank's information systems. In this role, you will focus on defining security projects, creating and executing plans, and managing project resources and costs.

What You'll Do

  • Define and document security projects designed to protect the bank's information systems.
  • Create, execute, and manage comprehensive project plans.
  • Oversee project cost management and resource allocation.
  • Perform periodic reporting on project status and outcomes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to resolve complex security problems.
  • Raise awareness and critical issues to executive leadership.
  • Engage leaders and stakeholders in understanding their roles in enterprise Change, Configuration, and Release Management processes.
  • Communicate effectively to all organizational levels, adapting information delivery based on the audience.
  • Work cooperatively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions.
  • Administer security applications such as CyberArk, Ivanti, and Crowdstrike.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting IT Security tools and applications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience with secure browser understanding and administration (e.g., island.io).
  • Hands-on experience with process documentation, flow charting, and re-engineering.
  • Knowledge of encryption technologies and PKI infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Information Security regulatory requirements and frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO27001, CIS, and Cobit.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP) and protocols (SSL, SSH, LDAP, SMTP, DNS).
  • Experience with Unix, Linux, and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with security monitoring concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within stringent time frames.
  • Strong analytical and investigation skills.
  • A strong team player.
  • Experience dealing with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Availability for occasional weekend and late-night support work.

Nice to Have

  • Some Project Management experience.
