Illumio is looking for a Security Engineer to join the Office of the CTO and Security team. In this role, you will set strategic technical direction and be responsible for securing Illumio and its customers, focusing on detection, response, and recovery while leveraging Illumio's own technology.
What You'll Do
- Act as the senior technical resource in our Detect, Respond and Recover functions.
- Leverage Illumio Insights as an everyday tool to protect the company, while providing input to product teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to protect Illumio’s production and corporate environments.
- Build, deploy, and automate security solutions using a mix of commercial, open-source, and in-house tools.
- Continually improve tool effectiveness and implement new approaches for the changing threat landscape.
- Perform other activities in support of the Security team’s charter.
- Mentor others as you gain knowledge and experience.
- Participate in weekly on-call rotations.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience detecting and responding to security incidents.
- 8+ years of experience building and operating enterprise security tools.
- 8+ years of experience securing multi-cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of the Illumio Platform.
- Strong scripting and automation skills, ideally in Python and/or Ruby.
- A data-driven, analytical mindset.
- The ability to express yourself clearly when communicating.
- 5 years hands-on technical experience in Incident Response and Security Operations roles.
- Cloud Security experience is required, preferably across multiple platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Deep understanding of Security Tools and Technologies such as Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, CSPM tools, WAF, IAM, EDR, DLP.
- Experience measuring SOC/SIEM performance and reporting metrics.
Nice to Have
- Vulnerability Management experience.
- Experience working in heavily regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP).
- CISSP or equivalent industry certification.
