About the Role

CAMP Systems is looking for a Security Engineer reporting to the Sr. Manager of Cybersecurity. In this role, you will be instrumental in protecting our IT infrastructure from cyber threats and ensuring operational efficiency, working closely with the Security & GRC and Infrastructure teams.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor security alerts and assist in incident identification, containment, and remediation.
  • Collaborate with engineers on network and infrastructure security improvement projects across the enterprise.
  • Configure and support security tools like endpoint protection (Crowdstrike), WAF, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Assist in security audits, compliance execution, and evidence gathering.
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and risk analysis.
  • Help implement security best practices across corporate IT.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Take ownership and follow through with projects and tasks until completion.
  • Manage relationships and expectations with multiple stakeholders across teams.
  • Monitor systems for security breaches, analyze potential threats, and swiftly respond to incidents.
  • Monitor SIEM and security event logs, create tickets, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Ensure and audit systems are fully patched and secure across the enterprise.
  • Perform user and group management, access control, and security hardening.
  • Document all system and security changes.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in System and Security Administration.
  • Experience with managing CrowdStrike.
  • Experience configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Okta MFA/SSO.
  • Experience configuring, monitoring, and researching issues through a SIEM (Sumo Logic).
  • Comfortable with virtualized & cloud environments (Nutanix Acropolis, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of both Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing and understanding network architecture including firewalls, routers, switches, and WAF software.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Tenable.io and Automox software.
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and HTML.
  • A security-specific certification (CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CISSP). CISSP is preferred.

Team & Environment

You will report to the Sr. Manager of Cybersecurity and work closely with the Security & GRC and Infrastructure teams.
