YVR (Vancouver International Airport) is hiring a Security and Regulatory Analyst

About the Role

YVR (Vancouver International Airport) is seeking a Senior Security and Regulatory Analyst to play a strategic leadership role in protecting the regulatory integrity and safety of the aerodrome. You will design and oversee a comprehensive quality assurance program to ensure all airport areas governed by the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations (CASR), Aviation Security Measures (ASM), and related frameworks meet or exceed compliance standards.

What You'll Do

  • Examine and investigate aerodrome operations to ensure full compliance with CASR, ASM, and all applicable requirements of the Aeronautics Act.
  • Assess the readiness and performance of all security personnel, programs, and systems to confirm training, patrols, access control, screening, equipment, and barriers meet required standards.
  • Verify the aerodrome's ability to meet all obligations of the airport security program, including incident response, security clearance management, and regulated processes.
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders, providing expert advice on security policy, operations, and projects; lead or participate in security committees; and develop security plans and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents by identifying root causes, documenting findings, developing corrective action plans, and confirming implementation.
  • Analyze data related to incidents, violations, and audits to identify systemic trends and predictive risk indicators, contributing to performance dashboards and data-driven governance.
  • Collaborate with the Security Operations Manager to ensure operational measures are implemented to maintain compliance when new regulations or initiatives are introduced.
  • Support security operations by participating in capital projects, contributing to budget planning, and providing input on contractual matters.

What We're Looking For

  • At least five years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in security management, business/operations, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation security regulations, including CASR, ASM, and Aeronautics Act requirements.
  • Proven skills in analysis, problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong analytical skills in trend analysis and data interpretation, with experience supporting dashboard development, performance governance, or digital systems optimization.
  • Proven project management, process analysis, and operational planning skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and solid knowledge of the MS Office suite, including data modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, cross-functional operations, and airport emergency response protocols.
  • Extensive experience in dynamic interdisciplinary contexts, with training in regulatory compliance, emergency planning, project management, and operational analysis.
  • Experience developing operational plans, facilitating meetings, and leading cross-departmental initiatives, with exposure to customer service, process flow analysis, or service, facilities, or manufacturing operations.
