Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is hiring a Scientist Bioanalytic II to join its Parenteral Product Development Science & Technology (PDS&T), Biologics Analytical group. In this lab-focused role, you will be responsible for the final method development, optimization, and validation for biologics medicines transitioning from development to commercialization, providing critical testing support for pipeline programs.
What You'll Do
- Function as an analytical scientist, generating original technical ideas and research or development strategies.
- Independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
- Understand project objectives and modify experimental plans as required.
- Learn, understand, and master new experimental techniques, acting as a resource or mentor for others.
- Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in your field.
- Set and meet experimental timelines.
- Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.
- Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature, contributing to the conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents.
What We're Looking For
- A BS or equivalent education with typically 7 or more years of experience, or an MS or equivalent education with typically 5 or more years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments.
- Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and master new experimental techniques.
- Ability to multitask and work within timelines.
- Demonstrated scientific writing skills and strong verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience and strong knowledge of protein HPLC (e.g., SEC, IEX, HIC), capillary electrophoresis, and other separation techniques for protein analysis.
- Experience maintaining a laboratory notebook in compliance with Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices.
- Demonstrated independent problem-solving ability and technical proficiency.
- Ability to multitask and work within timelines.
- Demonstrated scientific writing skills and strong verbal communication skills.
