About the Role

Catalyst Family is hiring a School Age Associate Teacher to play a vital role in delivering high-quality, enriching experiences for school-age children. You will join a team dedicated to creating supportive learning environments that foster development and connection.

What You'll Do

  • Create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum supported by learning foundations connected to children's interests.
  • Establish and maintain intentional, enriched, and supportive learning environments and quality experiences.
  • Provide excellent customer service by building authentic, culturally responsive relationships with children, youth, families, schools, and your team.
  • Ensure proper supervision, positive interactions, healthy habits, and excellent compliance to keep children healthy and safe.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow staff, connecting workplace values, education, and experience to provide high-quality programs.
  • Demonstrate positive interactions with children and youth, maintaining kind, respectful, and safe emotional and physical environments.
  • Be on time and present on a regularly scheduled basis, actively participating in outdoor and indoor programs.
  • Implement safety guidelines, report health and safety issues, and provide first aid calmly during emergencies.
  • Visually inspect the environment for hazards and take preventative actions.
  • Supervise children on field trips to destinations such as aquatic parks, beaches, and trampoline parks.

What We're Looking For

  • 12-24 postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field with passing grades of C- or better.
  • Or an Associate Teacher Permit or higher issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Nice to Have

  • 6-12 months of experience in a group care environment providing care or teaching for a consistent age group.
  • Current adult and infant/child CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual or multilingual language skills based on individual center needs.

Team & Environment

You will be a member of the teaching team, sharing responsibility for the care and education of an assigned group of children or classroom.
