About the Role

Guidant Financial is looking for a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to begin a career in retirement plan administration. You will learn the full process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans through in-depth training and practical experience, growing from document review to managing basic plans.

What You'll Do

  • Work with clients to obtain necessary information for annual reporting
  • Review client-submitted documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
  • Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
  • Make outgoing reminder calls and emails to clients during the reporting process
  • Prepare required government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
  • Educate clients on the administration of their 401(k) plan and related documents
  • Share knowledge and explain complex topics in simple terms
  • Train on core concepts for advancement to Retirement Plan Administrator I

What We're Looking For

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach
  • Strong skills in customer service, organization, and collaboration
  • Adequate math and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a self-directed worker
  • Ability to help create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must meet work-from-home requirements
  • Commitment to complete continuing education based on current certifications

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance) or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations
