As a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate administration of 401(k) plans. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate directly with clients to gather and verify documentation, conduct plan reconciliations, and support annual reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and assess client-submitted documents for accuracy and completeness
- Perform 401(k) plan testing and reporting using specialized administration software
- Reconcile plans involving rollovers and plan-held stock using Excel and digital tools
- Prepare and file required government forms, including IRS Form 5500, through certified filing platforms
- Communicate with clients via phone and email to request information and provide updates
- Explain plan requirements and documentation clearly, translating complex topics into understandable terms
- Support training initiatives for entry-level administrators
- Complete assigned tasks with precision and follow through on all compliance deadlines
Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential. You should be comfortable working independently, managing your time effectively, and solving problems proactively. Preferred Background
