Databricks is hiring a Resident Solutions Architect for our Professional Services team. You will work directly with clients on short to medium-term engagements, solving their big data challenges using the Databricks platform. Your role will involve executing data engineering, data science, and cloud technology projects, integrating with client systems, and providing training to maximize the value customers derive from their data.
What You'll Do
- Work on a variety of impactful customer technical projects, including designing and building reference architectures, creating how-to guides, and productionalizing customer use cases.
- Collaborate with engagement managers to scope professional services work with customer input.
- Guide strategic customers through transformational big data projects and 3rd party migrations, including the end-to-end design, build, and deployment of industry-leading big data and AI applications.
- Consult on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement customer projects to drive successful evaluation and adoption of Databricks.
- Provide an escalated level of support for customer operational issues.
- Work with the Databricks technical team, Project Manager, Architect, and Customer team to ensure technical deliverables meet the customer's needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Databricks Customer Support to provide product and implementation feedback and guide resolution for engagement-specific issues.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
- Comfort writing code in either Python or Scala.
- Working knowledge of two or more common Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
- Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark™ and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
- Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
- Working knowledge of MLOps.
- Experience designing and deploying performant, end-to-end data architectures.
- Experience with technical project delivery, including managing scope and timelines.
- Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
- Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
- Ability to build skills in technical areas supporting the deployment and integration of Databricks-based solutions.
- Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation Range: $180,656 — $248,360 USD (Zones 1-4).
