The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) who is a new graduate. In this role, you will provide quality patient care within the limits of your license and credentials, adhering to institutional policies, while working under physician direction and the supervision of the Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine respiratory care procedures including updrafts, MDIs, chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gases, incentive spirometry, IPV, patient education, and mechanical ventilator setup and management.
- Assist in codes and rapid responses.
- Enter patient treatment notes in the e-chart system and/or place documentation in patient charts.
- Call for, or physically move, equipment and medical supplies needed into assigned work areas.
- Interact with, and assist, the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, communicate accurate and complete information, and maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.
- Demonstrate positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments.
- Assist internal and external stakeholders with exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care by date of hire.
- Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Therapy Practitioner (LRCP) by date of hire.
- Must pass National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) RRT Credentialing Examination by date of hire.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a UAMS Respiratory Care Intern.
- ACLS, NRP, Basic Life Support (BLS).
Team & Environment
You will work under physician direction and the supervision of the Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager, reporting directly to them.
