Lendable is looking for a Staff/Lead React Native Engineer to join our cross-functional team building new product experiences in our established Zable App, used by over 500,000 customers on iOS and Android. Over the next year, we have ambitious plans for our app, including new products and bringing Zable to a new audience. Our ideal engineer is detail-focused, resourceful, and keen to understand the bigger picture, contributing to wider engineering and business initiatives that help us scale our UK and US based products as we continue to grow.

What You'll Do

Work with product owners to break down business requirements into deliverable tasks and estimate implementation complexity.
Organise work streams in conjunction with the product owner, and look for optimisations that improve team performance and happiness.
Mentor and support other engineers, alongside engineering managers, working to encourage their personal and professional growth.
Lead cross-platform mobile development using React Native.
Own and manage the full spectrum of iOS & Android application requirements, such as provisioning, certificate management, automated deployment, and app store release processes.
Set the standard for automated testing in your team, and take a pragmatic approach to implementing and improving the various phases of the testing pyramid.
Identify and assess technical debt and advocate for prioritising code improvements alongside feature work.

What We're Looking For

Experience working with product owners to break down business requirements into deliverable tasks.
Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
Expert understanding of modern Javascript with Typescript.
Experience leading cross-platform mobile development using React Native.
Strong understanding of the different needs of mobile users across a variety of platforms and devices.
Comfortable owning and managing the full spectrum of iOS & Android application requirements.
Can quickly identify and assess technical debt and advocate for prioritising code improvements.
Understand the importance of catering to users with accessibility needs, and are familiar with the approaches and tooling required.

Nice to Have

Have lead teams which have built, or worked on, products that have scaled from zero users to tens or hundreds of thousands (or more).
Have used GraphQL in a production environment.
Have experience in scaling React Native to multiple teams.
Have built and launched new products and grown the audience.
Have in-depth experience of mobile performance best practices and debugging.
Have employed staged rollouts and multivariate testing approaches to release new features.
Have experience of UI or UX design and are happy to get involved in making design decisions where required.
