American Airlines is seeking a Ramp Service Agent to join our ground operations team. This position, also known as a Fleet Service Clerk, is responsible for handling baggage and cargo, servicing aircraft, and performing various tasks critical to flight operations. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions and be required to work irregular shifts, including weekends and holidays.
What You'll Do
- Move baggage and cargo of various weights to and from aircraft.
- Drive and operate ground support equipment like belt loaders.
- Service aircraft at gates with ground power and air conditioning.
- Safely tow and pushback aircraft from gates.
- Service aircraft lavatories and water ports.
- Clean aircraft interior and position beverage and luggage carts on the ramp.
- Report on time for varying shifts, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Complete job-relevant trainings and adhere to all government and company safety policies.
- Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Work outdoors with exposure to elements, engine noise, and fumes.
- Depending on location, may perform de-icing or catering services.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift, load, unload, and transport bags and cargo.
- Basic computer skills.
- A people-oriented, motivated, and positive attitude with good communication skills.
- An applicable valid driver’s license as required by local authorities.
- Ability to secure necessary airport security badges.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and comprehensive background check.
- Ability to obtain jet bridge certification and pass a US Postal Service background check.

This position is covered by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
