Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality of our global Public Safety software, including the HxGN OnCall application suite. This suite provides web-based solutions for call-taking, dispatch, situational awareness, records management, mobile operations, and analytics.
What You'll Do
- Prioritize, plan, and coordinate QA testing activities.
- Review requirements, specifications, and functional design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
- Apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify testing requirements.
- Review logs using debugging process results.
- Operate effectively within a Windows 11 environment, leveraging Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support quality assurance workflows.
- Demonstrate familiarity with system navigation, file management, and integration of Office tools with QA platforms such as Azure DevOps.
What We're Looking For
- BS degree in Computer Science or a proven related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience may be accepted.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in manual software quality assurance testing.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies.
- The ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Self-motivated, independent, and effective team contributor.
- Ability to step up in a fast-paced environment and be accountable.
- Strong problem-solving, written, and verbal communications skills.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and enhance skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the Public Safety domain is highly valued.
- Experience in a Public Safety Communications Center is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of browser development tools.
- Experience in Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and PaaS & SaaS.
- Applied knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio and SQL scripting.
- Experience with Playwright automated testing tools.
