Jobgether is seeking a Python Open-Source Developer to join our distributed team. In this fully remote role, you will develop and maintain Python packages and APIs for advanced tabular data analysis and modeling. You'll build tools for exploratory data analysis, preprocessing, feature engineering, visualization, and model interrogation, while working closely with the community to guide development priorities.
What You'll Do
- Develop, document, and maintain Python packages and APIs for tabular data analysis and modeling.
- Reproduce and diagnose reported issues, convert them into unit tests, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to plan, execute, and deliver new feature development.
- Write user-friendly API documentation, guides, and tutorials.
- Engage with the open-source community through training, presentations, blog posts, and other developer relations activities.
- Help define technical roadmap and prioritize projects based on user needs and community engagement.
What We're Looking For
- Strong, fundamental knowledge of Python as a primary programming language.
- Experience with advanced tabular data techniques, including statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualization.
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated and independent, with a passion for open-source software development.
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to Python packages or open-source projects.
- Hands-on experience in real-world tabular data analysis and modeling.
