About the Role
The practitioner will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with psychiatric conditions through virtual consultations, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate ongoing treatment while maintaining compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth platforms
- Diagnose and manage mental health disorders across adult populations
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications following best practices
- Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient progress
- Maintain accurate electronic health records in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with care coordination staff to support patient engagement
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and caregivers as part of treatment
- Respond to patient messages within defined response time standards
- Adhere to state and federal telehealth practice requirements
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives related to clinical outcomes
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings
- Monitor high-risk patients and intervene when necessary
- Ensure continuity of care during transitions or crises
- Follow protocols for managing psychiatric emergencies remotely
- Uphold patient confidentiality and data security standards
- Stay current with clinical guidelines and advancements in psychiatry
- Support patient adherence to treatment through motivational strategies
- Document clinical decisions and rationale clearly and promptly
- Coordinate with external providers when integrated care is needed
- Conduct follow-up appointments to assess treatment effectiveness
Nice to Have
- Two or more years of psychiatric nurse practitioner experience
- Experience in telepsychiatry settings
- Exposure to integrated behavioral health models
- Training in cognitive behavioral therapy techniques
- Experience with complex mood and anxiety disorders
- Prior work in fast-paced clinical environments
- Familiarity with psychiatric pharmacogenomics
- Leadership or precepting experience
- Involvement in mental health advocacy or outreach
- Additional certifications in mental health specialties
