The Newberry Group was looking for a Proposal Technical Writer/Coordinator

Shape winning federal proposals as a Proposal Technical Writer/Coordinator, responsible for developing accurate, compliant, and compelling content across technical, management, and staffing volumes. You will interpret complex RFPs, including PWS/SOW, Section L and M criteria, and translate capture strategies into evaluable narratives that align with government expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, revise, and format proposal sections in response to federal solicitations, ensuring clarity, compliance, and consistency.
  • Interview subject matter experts to extract technical details and convert them into accessible, persuasive content.
  • Develop resumes, past performance summaries, management plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain compliance matrices, outlines, and production schedules to track progress and accountability.
  • Coordinate input from SMEs, program leads, and pricing teams, managing data calls and version control.
  • Organize digital workspaces using SharePoint and Teams to ensure file integrity and team access.
  • Prepare and manage review cycles, including Pink, Red, and Gold Team evaluations, incorporating feedback efficiently.
  • Support final production, ensuring formatting, pagination, and submission guidelines are strictly followed.
  • Verify alignment with RFP requirements, including structure, page limits, naming conventions, and evaluation criteria.
  • Collaborate with design staff to integrate graphics and tables that meet agency standards.
  • Communicate status updates, risks, and dependencies to leadership throughout the proposal lifecycle.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and have 3–5 years of experience writing proposals in the federal contracting space. You should demonstrate proven success in producing compliant submissions, interpreting solicitation documents, and managing collaborative writing processes under pressure.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams) is essential. Experience with the Shipley method, APMP certification, or writing for IT modernization and cybersecurity (RMF, CMMC) proposals is preferred. Familiarity with labor category alignment and cost proposal integration is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in St. Charles, Missouri, requiring regular on-site presence. Remote work may be permitted within defined parameters. The organization is employee-owned, emphasizing long-term growth, team development, and client excellence.
