Role Overview
We’re looking for a Product Engineer focused on the core systems and connectivity layer of our platform. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and evolving the foundational code that powers critical functionality and integrations with leading online travel agencies. Your work will directly support a growing base of customers managing over $300M in reservations each month.
Key Responsibilities
- Work extensively within a Laravel-based monolithic backend to develop, maintain, and optimize core features
- Design and improve integrations with third-party platforms, ensuring reliability and resilience
- Deepen understanding of partner APIs to unlock new capabilities and improve existing connections
- Enhance system observability and debugging workflows to quickly identify and resolve issues
- Collaborate with product, sales, and customer success teams to build solutions that address real user needs
- Refactor legacy components to improve code clarity, test coverage, and long-term maintainability
- Contribute to early-stage product discussions and help shape the direction of new features
- Optimize performance and resource usage across high-impact services and data pipelines
What We’re Looking For
You have strong backend engineering experience, particularly with PHP and Laravel, and a track record of working on large, complex systems. You’re comfortable navigating a monolith, debugging intricate flows, and improving system reliability. Experience with Angular is helpful, and familiarity with MySQL and message queues like Beanstalk is required.
Success in this role means balancing technical depth with product awareness—shipping solutions that are both robust and user-focused. You thrive in a remote environment, communicate clearly across time zones, and take ownership of your work from concept to deployment.
Preferred Background
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Exposure to integrations with online travel agencies such as Airbnb, Booking.com, or VRBO
- Experience in fast-moving, product-driven environments with high uptime expectations
- History of influencing product decisions and contributing to technical strategy
Technology Environment
Our stack centers on PHP with Laravel, a monolithic backend architecture, and a Kubernetes-powered infrastructure managed through code. We prioritize observability, incremental iteration, and systems that scale reliably under load.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote role with no office requirement. We hire based on timezone alignment rather than geography, supporting a distributed team that values autonomy, clear communication, and consistent delivery. You’ll have direct access to company-wide Townhalls and internal documentation to stay informed and engaged.
