Innovaccer is looking for a Product Designer I specializing in design systems. You will be central to shaping, scaling, and operationalizing our design system, ensuring consistency across products and enabling designers and engineers to work efficiently. This role sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and emerging AI workflows.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design, evolution, and governance of the company’s Design System.
- Build and maintain a scalable component library including tokens, components, patterns, and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to ensure accurate and scalable implementation of design components.
- Define and maintain design tokens, interaction patterns, layout principles, and accessibility guidelines.
- Create clear documentation, usage guidelines, and best practices for designers and engineers.
- Support product designers in adopting and effectively using the design system across multiple product surfaces.
- Conduct UI audits and refactoring initiatives to increase component reuse and reduce design inconsistency.
- Ensure the system supports responsive design, accessibility standards, and scalability across platforms.
- Leverage AI tools and vibe coding workflows to accelerate design exploration and prototyping.
- Work on evolving AI-assisted workflows that utilize the design system to generate scalable, production-ready product interfaces.
- Continuously improve the system based on product needs, feedback from teams, and emerging design technologies.
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years of experience in Product Design, UI/UX Design, or similar roles.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience contributing to or building a Design System or component library.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design system work, including reusable components, tokens, patterns, or system documentation.
- Strong proficiency with Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, libraries, tokens) or equivalent tools.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate design workflows, prototyping, or vibe coding.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to collaborate effectively with frontend engineers.
- Strong understanding of visual design systems, interaction design, and usability principles.
- Knowledge of responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG).
Nice to Have
- Experience working with design tokens and design-to-code pipelines.
- Familiarity with Storybook or component documentation platforms.
- Exposure to frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Experience maintaining multi-product or multi-platform design systems.
- Experience experimenting with AI-assisted UI generation or design-to-code workflows.
